RBW brings Classic Electric recreation to the Capital
Midlands classic motoring specialist RBW Electric Classic Cars is bringing its limited edition RBW Recreation to the nation’s capital for the London Classic Car Show, 14-17 February at Dockland’s ExCel.
The first of the electric designs is the RBW MGB recreation, which affords all the stylings of an MGB roadster, preserving this iconic designs for the future classic motorist.
After a trade launch at Cenex, a showcase of low carbon vehicle technologies, the classic electric car inspired by the MGB Roadster is now ready for the show circuit and where better to kick off the 2019 season than in London.
“This car is made for the London lifestyle,” explains Managing Director Peter Swain. “The perfect car for hitting the big smoke, with charging points over the city and zero emissions so eligible for 100% discount on the congestion charge. But it is also individual, you won’t see another classic car like it driving through the West End.
The limited-edition hand-built models will see an initial 30 examples created in 2019. RBW is working closely with Continental Engineering Services, part of Continental AG, who provides the world championship winning technology applied to Formula E racing cars. The aim is to create a stunning vehicle that has the aesthetic appeal of a classic car but with all the engineering of a modern electric vehicle.
To ensure drivers comfortable driving and complete safety, rather than taking an old body shell with distressed and tired metal, RBW has partnered with British Motor Heritage to provide brand new body shells.
